Biography
Marco Adamo was born on May 26, 1990, in Gallipoli, Puglia. He grew up in Alliste, in the province of Lecce, surrounded by the love of his family, a constant point of reference throughout his life. From a young age, he developed a deep passion for football, showing both talent and determination. In 2010, he joined the Serie D of the Apulian championship, beginning a promising football career. However, a period of profound personal crisis in 2015 led him to abruptly stop his athletic path. He then decided to move to Rome in search of a new direction.
It was in the capital that Marco Adamo discovered a new expressive dimension. Fascinated by contemporary art, he visited museums, explored galleries, read specialized magazines, and participated in art events. In this creative fervor, he found a way to combine his two great passions: football and art. In 2018, he created his first work, Pallonata su tela. Here, the football is no longer a sports tool but becomes his brush. Immersed in color, it is repeatedly kicked onto the canvas, leaving pentagonal and hexagonal imprints that form dynamic and energetic compositions.
Marco Adamo’s technique recalls Jackson Pollock’s Action Painting, where the artist becomes a medium between intention and result, leaving room for spontaneous gestures and chance. Each “kick” is a symbolic act, a challenge against hatred, corruption, and violence. The canvases become imaginary playing fields where Marco plays a game for a better world, replacing darkness with the light of color and creativity. The net is no longer a football goal but a visual mesh resembling a beehive, where every mark contributes to building a collective vision.
Since 2023, Marco Adamo has presented several solo and group exhibitions, turning the canvas into a symbolic network of creativity and hope. In his recent exhibition L'arte nel Pallone, he incorporates football symbols and team emblems, highlighting the value of belonging and unity among people.
Through his art and athletic gesture, his message is a call to overcome divisions and rediscover global harmony, where sport and creativity become instruments of change.
