Keith Haring 1958-1990

Keith Haring was born in 1958 in Pennsylvania and from an early age showed a strong passion for drawing.
After studying at the School of Visual Arts in New York, he found in the city his main source of inspiration, immersing himself in the energy of street culture and graffiti. His bold lines, stylized figures, and vibrant colors quickly became a distinctive and universal language.

His research focused on social, political, and contemporary issues, expressed with a style that was both direct and accessible. Haring’s art combined visual immediacy with conceptual depth, addressing themes such as life, love, death, freedom, and social justice.

In the 1980s he gained international recognition, exhibiting in major galleries and museums while maintaining a strong connection with the streets and the public. His career was also marked by strong social commitment, culminating in the creation of the Keith Haring Foundation, dedicated to supporting children and the fight against AIDS.

Today, his works are regarded as icons of Pop Art and contemporary art, still capable of inspiring and communicating universal messages through the power of line and color.
